Innovation Day 2024

NB: Innovation Day is now fully booked.

Following on from the success of our field trip at Conference 2023, we thought we’d scale up and create a full Innovation Day. This will be held the day before conference, on Wednesday 15 May.

It will include visits to nursery and grower sites in Cambridge and Ruakura to see the latest in technology and production methods such as robotics, drones, sensors and potting, irrigation and recycling systems. We will be joined on the day by members of partner organisations such as Vegetables NZ and CRIs.

Wednesday May 15

• 9.00am - bus departs the Novotel Hamilton Tainui for those who require it. Innovation Day attendees will also be able to self-drive/ car share.

• 9.30am to 11.30am - visit Annton Nursery in Cambridge with nursery tour then demonstrations from external suppliers.

• 12.00pm - arrive at Waikato Innovation Park in Ruakura.

• 12.15pm to 3.30pm:

  • Indoor growing summit by Plant & Food Research

  • Stand up lunch

  • Tour of vertical farm Greengrower

  • EECA covered crop presentation

• By 4.00pm - bus leaves to return to Novotel.
